Thassa's Oracle
-
I have been brewing a Paradigm shift deck for a little while. I have not played much MTGO, so I'm not sure how it would do there but I am testing it in paper in my play group.

Have you considered doomsdays? They usually do a pretty good job with the oracle.

To pull from different threads:
- You can brew with anything you want, but let us know how successful you are.
- Oh, there are multiple league trophies with a card, but it was only a singleton in a deck that can only run singletons. Heck, it might as well have been Sedge Troll.
- Ah, well the card trophied a league and top 8'd a challenge a 4-of. Mocking comment with a Pig emoji. Have you considered playing the tier 1 option?
For a forum that occasionally has more posts from spambots than from actual people, this hostility to brews and the shifting of goalposts are unfortunate and detrimental, IMO.

@chubbyrain1 LOL, love this guy.
I actually have no issue (or opinion) with the brew or Paradigm Shift. Was just a dig at your comment, not the OP - and I honestly don't know why I like picking with you. My troll side comes out 99% of the time with your posts.

The reason for a thread like this one is to stir up interest and some discussion in alternative deck strategies. The meta-game is solved and it is fairly straightforward at this time, just go to mtggoldfish and look at the top Vintage decks.
There is room in Vintage for innovation. Strixhaven offers little to no new cards for Vintage. I look at Vintage almost the same way that I view Old School. The top tier decks do not really change much and those decks can be attacked from different angles but the format as a whole is open to some "new" strategies.
I have built this deck on paper and in MTGO. I just do not get a lot of time to play so I have not updated this thread with results.

I played this in the MTG Melee, went 1-3 but won a game every match. I am probably too rusty to give a good analysis but the deck was competitive in every round but needs something. I'll add some Night's Whisper and Chain for Vapor. The deck needs more defense off the board and I may try Dispel. I went with Tinker/Bolas' Citadel over Treasure Cruise/Dig Through Time because of the Relic of Progenitus. I'm open to thoughts and suggestions.

Is there any merit to, if this is the win condition you want, just going full momo blue and making it a 4 BTB deck? that would allow for some more shifts and the last relic so you would become a full hybrid control combo deck.
-
@botvinik Maybe, I built it that way in paper and tested it but Pyroblast is rampant and without some tutor the deck is not able to recover after counters or find answers when pinched.

Makes sense.
